Dohmen Kitchen Remodel…
February 18, 2012
For the past few years, Dragonfly Designs seems to be working on more and more contemporary projects. This project definitely defines contemporary and modern in the same breath without loosing an inviting tone. At the beginning of this project, the client stressed that clean and bright were at the top of the list in requirements. Next came built-in evertything! Then it was onto darkening the existing oak floors indicative of large Charlotte homes and updating and upgrading the lighting throughout to LED programable ceiling lights. We worked round the clock for the better part of three months to exceed the clients wishes and according to the client; we did!
The client loved the white and bright of the older kitchen we removed so we upgraded the appliances, built everything in, and used high gloss white cabinets for the new kitchen.
The enitre home is now a pure white with dark wood floors...the piano room now shines!
In the beginning, every project seems to be a large undertaking for everyone involved. This project was no exception!
The living space was enlarged by an additional two feet. Removing the built-in shelves, relocating the media equipment, new blinds on the windows and accessories finish off the living room.
The wall of built-in appliances really allowed more floor space to enlarge the island making it more useful and creating an eating area.
Using drawers instead of standard cabinet doors allows the client to place even the largest cooking pots within reach.
